Very predictable result when second rankedCangrejeras (8-3) won against 10th ranked Leonas (3-7) in Ponce 77-66 on Thursday. Santurce looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The winners were led by international guard Brianna Jones (177-1997, college: Georgetown) who scored that evening 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and American forward Shae Kelley (185-1991, college: Minnesota) supported her with 10 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Jones is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even 19 points, 6 rebounds, 9 assists and 4 steals by American guard Talia von Oelhoffen (180-2002, college: USC, agency: Next Page Sports) did not help to save the game for Leonas . Her fellow American import center Shelby Cheslek (196-1992, college: Gonzaga, agency: LBM Management) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cangrejeras have a solid four-game winning streak. Defending champion used an opportunity after Moca lost their game and moved up joining them at the top position. Newly promoted Leonas dropped to the ninth place with seven games lost. They share the position with Yauco.
